Editorial Independence
HearingExperts is editorially independent. No advertiser, hearing aid manufacturer, retailer, or partner has any influence over our rankings, scores, or written content. Our editorial team makes every decision about what we cover and how we cover it.
We do earn affiliate commissions when readers purchase products through links on our site. This funds our hands-on testing and operations. It does not influence rankings, and our affiliate relationships are fully disclosed on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
Accuracy & Fact-Checking
Every published review goes through a multi-stage review process before publication:
- Author research and testing. Reviews are written by editors with relevant audiology or hearing instrument expertise.
- Editorial review. Our Lead Audiology Editor reviews every article for accuracy, fairness, and clarity.
- Subject-matter review. Health-related content is reviewed by a licensed audiologist (Au.D.) or Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS).
- Source verification. All factual claims are checked against primary sources.
Source Standards
We rely on credible primary sources wherever possible. These include:
- Peer-reviewed audiology and hearing science research
- Government and regulatory bodies (FDA, NIDCD, AAA, ASHA)
- Manufacturer technical documentation, fitting ranges, and clinical data sheets
- Independent third-party hearing instrument testing laboratories
- Verified wearer reviews from established retailers (with minimum review thresholds)
- Direct hands-on testing by our licensed audiology editors and real-ear measurement protocols
We do not rely on press releases, manufacturer-sponsored studies, or anecdotal claims as primary sources for factual statements.
Conflicts of Interest
HearingExperts editors are required to disclose any personal or financial relationship with brands they cover. Editors who own stock in, work for, or have family relationships with companies in a category are recused from reviews in that category.
Corrections Policy
If we publish something inaccurate, we correct it promptly and visibly. Our corrections process:
- Minor corrections (typos, formatting) are made silently with the article's revision date updated.
- Factual corrections are made promptly with a visible correction notice at the top of the affected article.
- Significant corrections or retractions are noted at the top of the article and may be republished as a separate update.
To report a correction, email corrections@hearingexperts.com.
Use of AI
We use AI tools for research support, transcript summarization, and editorial assistance — never to generate finished review content. Every published review is written and signed by a human editor with audiology credentials, fact-checked by a human, and reviewed by our editorial leadership.
Sponsored Content
We do not publish sponsored or paid content alongside our editorial reviews. If we ever publish promotional material in any form, it will be clearly labeled as "Sponsored" or "Advertisement" and visually distinct from editorial content.
Brand Submissions
Hearing aid manufacturers and distributors may submit devices for editorial consideration. Submission does not guarantee review or favorable coverage. When we receive a review sample, we disclose this in the relevant article. Email editorial@hearingexperts.com to inquire.
Reader Feedback
We welcome reader feedback, criticism, and suggestions. Send feedback to hello@hearingexperts.com or use our contact page.
